Uniform

Jumpers, shirts, neckers and woggles

All age ranges in Scouting have a similar uniform made up of a top, plus a coloured group ‘necker’ held together by a woggle.

We normally wear our uniform at our regular weekly meetings and during day trips and camps if this is suitable. Sometimes we just wear the necker, and other times no uniform at all.

Squirrels, Beavers and Cubs wear a jumper, whilst Scouts, Explorers, Network and Adult Volunteers wear a shirt. The uniform jumper or shirt can be purchased directly from Scout Shops to fit, although there are other retailers you can buy from. Please find out about our bursary scheme if you would benefit from support with the cost of the uniform.

The ‘necker’ and a basic woggle will be provided at no extra cost at the time of investiture.

There are some badges shown on the following diagrams that don’t apply to our members (like the Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland badges).

Squirrels

Squirrels wear a red jumper, with optional red polo shirt.

Beavers

Beavers wear a turquoise jumper, with optional turquoise polo shirt.

Cubs

Cubs wear a green jumper, with optional green polo shirt.

Scouts

Scouts wear a teal long-sleeved shirt or long-sleeved blouse.

Explorers

Explorers wear a beige long-sleeved shirt, long-sleeved blouse or short-sleeved shirt.

Network and Adult Volunteers

Networkers and adult volunteers who are members wear a stone-coloured short-sleeved shirt, long-sleeved shirt, short-sleeved blouse or long-sleeved blouse, as preferred. There is also an optional stone-coloured polo shirt.
